What to Look for When Buying Vitamins in Rwanda

When buying vitamins, the most useful comparison is not simply the price of one bottle against another. It is the combination of ingredients, dosage, quality information, packaging and traceability.

Check the exact nutrient and dosage

Start with the vitamin or mineral you are looking for and check the amount provided per serving. Two products can have similar names but very different amounts or forms of a nutrient.

Read the full ingredient list

Look for the active ingredients as well as other ingredients used in the formulation. If you have allergies, dietary restrictions or other specific needs, check the label carefully.

Check the manufacturer and origin

A professional product should make it possible to identify the manufacturer or responsible company. For imported products, clear origin and supply-chain information can help buyers assess traceability.

Look at packaging and product condition

Before purchasing, check that the packaging is intact and that the product is within its stated shelf life. Follow the storage instructions on the label, especially for products that are sensitive to heat, moisture or light.

Do not assume more is always better

Higher amounts are not automatically better for everyone. Follow the recommended use on the product and consider professional advice where appropriate, particularly for children, pregnancy, chronic conditions or concurrent medication.

Choose transparent suppliers

Where possible, buy from established pharmacies, retailers or distributors that can answer questions about the product and its source. Responsible distribution is part of product quality.
